Wayne Norcliffe is 47 years old (as at 2013) and has worked in the construction and property industries since leaving school in 1982. Starting off as an apprentice bricklayer and latterly running his own sub-contracting company employing upwards of ten specialist construction operatives.
Wayne returned to study as a mature student, studying a Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) accredited degree in Southampton, obtaining a 2i (HON’s) degree and finishing 2nd in his year.
Wayne obtained his Chartered Status in 2000 and has since been working as a practising Chartered Surveyor for various companies, including Countrywide Surveyors, Tyser Greenwood Surveyors, Wolton Surveyors, JE Shepherd Surveyors, HSBC Bank, Bournemouth Borough Council, Southampton City Council, Poole Borough Council and National Car Parks Limited, along with working directly for the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors as both an Assessor and Home Inspection Trainer over the years.
Wayne decided that working for larger surveying practices was not for him, wanting to focus on client service and ensuring that the client receives the highest levels of service.
In addition to the in-house expertise mentioned above, we also work with specialist consultants as and when required, including specialists with particular expertise in Historic Buildings and Conservation.
We have also recently formed a working relationship with a dedicated consultant who works with us on a part-time basis this consultant is based in the New Forest and a short biography is shown below.
Our Consultant Surveyor is a local dynamic Chartered Surveyor who resides in the New Forest area and has undertaken extensive public sector and private sector work across Hampshire, Wiltshire and Dorset, with almost 20 years of residential surveying and valuation experience of a wide range of property types and age.
In addition, he is a qualified Home Inspector, asbestos surveyor and has full membership of the RICS Valuer’s Registration Scheme. Additional experience in contract administration, specification writing, single defect analysis and residential valuations for all purposes ensure that an extensive range of surveying and valuation services can be provided by our team.
In addition by the addition of this Consultant Surveyor Castle Surveyors Limited is now able to offer the added advantage of weekend surveys and is available evenings and weekends to answer your queries to ensure that you obtain prompt professional advice following the inspections he has undertaken, should the need arise.

Mark Knight is a dedicated and motivated Chartered Surveyor, with a highly successful background in Estate and Facilities Management. He is a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, Building Surveying Division and holds a Diploma in Surveying from the College of Estate Management at Reading University. He is also an ECO accredited Surveyor having completed the Energy Companies Obligation training with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.Mark enjoys being part of, as well as developing, managing, motivating and training successful and productive teams to work in pressurised and challenging environments.
Following a successful career with Chelsea Building Society Mark began working for himself in 2013, trading as Warden Surveyors. Mark has experience in both residential and commercial property surveys, valuation works and completion of the RICS Homebuyers and Building Surveys reports. He has also undertaken works in the Building Insulation field, working for several insulation companies, with the latest field being Cavity clearance works and fault rectification following failed insulation installations.
Mark also carries out a wide range of property management and investigation works, preparing reports, undertaking building surveys, Schedules of Condition and Dilapidations and at all times working to serve his clients to the highest industry standard.
