Wayne Norcliffe is 56 years old (as at 2023) and has worked in the construction and property industries since leaving school in 1982. Starting off as an apprentice bricklayer and latterly running his own sub-contracting company employing upwards of ten specialist construction operatives for large construction companies including AF Budge, Amey, Balfour Beatty and others. At the age of 28 however he decided to return to study and left Manchester headed for Southampton to begin his Degree that would eventually lead to him becoming a Fellow of the RICS and Assoc. of Building Engineers.

Wayne achieved Chartered Status in 2000 and currently holds the esteemed position of Fellow of the RICS. Throughout his career, he has applied his expertise as a practicing Chartered Surveyor for reputable companies such as Countrywide Surveyors, Tyser Greenwood Surveyors, Wolton Surveyors, JE Shepherd Surveyors, HSBC Bank, London Scottish Bank Plc, Bournemouth Borough Council, Southampton City Council, Poole Borough Council, and National Car Parks Limited. Furthermore, Wayne has made valuable contributions to the industry, working directly for the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors as an Assessor, APC Doctor, Member of the RICS Voluntary Service and Home Inspector Trainer.
Beyond his professional endeavors, Wayne has actively participated in helping to shape RICS and government policy decisions. His input has contributed to various guidance, publications and/or consultations related to vital topics such as Leasehold Reforms, Regulation of Property Advisors, and the enhancement of the RICS Home Survey suite of reports along with external wall cladding commentaries. Wayne’s commitment to advancing industry standards and best practices is commendable.
Wayne’s qualifications extend beyond his affiliation with RICS. He is a distinguished Fellow of the Chartered Association of Building Engineers, a former Incorporated member of the Institute of Builders, and a former member of the Independent Surveyors and Valuers Association (ISVA). In recognition of his expertise, Wayne is qualified to undertake Expert Witness instructions for both commercial and residential properties, is a qualified Home Inspector and Domestic Energy Assessor, along with having specific qualifications in Party Wall Awards and Health & Safety. Additionally, he possesses a Masters in Project Management qualification, further enhancing his ability to deliver comprehensive and efficient project solutions.
